our valentine's day :-)
both of us took leave on valentine's day this year. well, usually we're not the sort of couple that go to great lengths to celebrate this day. this day is normally a simple affair - no candlelight dinner (i remember we had delifrance for dinner the first year because every decent restaurant was either fully booked or had a long queue!), no present or just something small (aka cheap), if we're on leave, one party will plan the whole programme for the day. and this year it happened to be the bf's turn! so it was really quite relaxing to just see what's in store... errr and oops, i only decided to buy a card (see pic: i love this "key to my heart" theme) and some valentine's candies from candy empire the night before. and tonnes of others were doing the same, the shop was so crowded i had a hard time trying to find a nice card.
breakfast (or rather brunch) was kind of impromptu at west coast park mc cafe, it's nearby and i like the cappuccino and sandwiches they serve, so it was quite an easy choice. we had the triple decker sandwich, a banana walnut muffin, hot chocholate and of course my usual cappuccino.
and where did we head off to next? THE SENTOSA FLOWER EXHIBITION! i kind of expected this, as i was bugging him to go for the display during the CNY holidays. well, i heard that place was packed during the festive period, so it's a blessing in disguise we didn't make it then. you can tell from the pictures that there were really tonnes of flowers, in the varities anyone could possibly think of. seeing the flowers with its stunning array of colours just brightens up anybody's day. the sentosa management also had its people around the displays to help take photographs, thumbs up!
what's next was the night programme. remember i mentioned no presents! although i broke the rule with a small bag of chocolates, the bf did worse! he bought me a pair of swarovski crystals drop earrings from the bridal collection. yup, it was meant to match the wedding gown. the funniest (/sweetest) part was that he was so worried i won't like it (until now he still hasn't figured out my taste for accessories) or that it won't match the gown design that he had to seek help from XY. i think it was an excellent choice because they aren't too dainty (not exactly my style), yet still classic and elegant. oh, and they're so versatile they can be converted to simple pearl studs. well, now he's like so proud of himself... wahaha. *heart* oh yes, to end the lovely day was ala carte japanese buffet at hanabi, just beside coronoation plaza, hmmm... could be crown centre. that place was packed that night, the quality is comparable to ekoi but with a greater selection, yummmmmmm.
well, it was a great valentine's day programme, eh, i'm going to have a hard time planning it next year, it just gets harder by the year doesn't it? hope everybody had some fun too! ;-)

CNY
i'm sick after the 4-day break, down with a bad cold and a runny blocked nose. strangely not that many photos taken during the past few days.
these were taken at siu yee's place - bee hoon, chicken wings and curry! i had chicken wings for five meals over the past four days, no wonder this is the favourite party food.
